Cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected over the Caraga Region and Eastern Visayas over the weekend due to a low pressure area (LPA) near Surigao del Sur, the state weather bureau said Thursday.
The weather disturbance was last spotted 685 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur before Thursday noon.
The rain may trigger flashfloods and landslides in affected areas, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
The Caraga Region includes Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur and Dinagat Islands.
According to Pagasa, the weather disturbance will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and isolated thunderstorms in Compostela Valley, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Occidental, Davao Oriental, Bohol, Cebu, Negros Oriental, Siquijor, Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate, Sorsogon, Quezon, and Aurora.
The whole archipelago will experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas. By CLC
