The Caraga’s total COVID-19 cases neared the 3,000 mark as the Department of Health (DOH) reported 28 new cases on Friday, bringing the region’s total of confirmed cases of infection to 2,954.
The total number of COVID-19 related deaths also rose to 130 with the addition of one new death, the DOH Caraga reported.
The health agency said the new cases were from Butuan City with 15; Agusan del Norte, two; Surigao del Norte, seven; and Surigao del Sur, four.
According to DOH data, Butuan is still the top city with the most number of COVID-19 cases with 1,369, followed by Surigao with 249, Bislig with 208, Tandag with 88, Cabadbaran with 88, and Bayugan with 35.
In terms of province, Agusan del Sur remained the top province with the most number of COVID-19 cases with 302, Agusan del Norte with 245 cases, Surigao del Norte with 209 cases, Surigao del Sur with 142 cases, and Dinagat Islands with 19.
As of Friday, Caraga logged 2,954 total cases of COVID-19. Of the number, 456 are active cases while 2,368 are recoveries. CLC
