About 1,992 drug suspects have been arrested in two years of intensified anti-illegal drug operations in various parts of the five provinces and six cities in the region. the Caraga regional police office said .
In a statement on Saturday, Chief Supt. Noli A. Romana said a total of 1,992 drug personalities in the region were apprehended in anti-drug operations from January 2016 to December 2017.
Citing statistics from the Regional Operations Division,
Romana said the number of cases filed before the prosecution offices reached 1,505, while 24 of which were dismissed due to the procedural irregularities, failure to attend hearing and lack of interest of complainant while some cases have progressed.
A total of 6,824.29 grams of shabu with a street value of P80,523,633.8 and P45,718,188.4 worth of marijuana were confiscated by police operatives from all antinarcotics units in city, provincial and municipal offices in the same period.
“PRO-13, with partner agencies will continuously conduct pro-active measures and intensify its effort to wipe out all forms of illegal drug activities for a drug-free Caraga,” Romana said. By CLC
