Caraga cops, mediamen undergo HIV test to set example

Caraga police officials and personnel and several Butuan-based mediamen get themselves tested for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) during a free counseling and testing at the Camp Rafael Rodriguez in Butuan City, Friday, to  encourage the public to do the same and help prevent the spread of the dreaded virus.

The Department of Health said a total of 430 Caraganons were found to have acquired HIV/AIDS as of October last year.

According to the event organizers, getting tested would help prevent the spread of the virus that is a precursor to the dreaded acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, or AIDS, as well as to allow for treatment. By GD Photo courtesy of Caraga Pulis Pio
