Caraga police authorities seized several gambling machines amid intensified crackdown against illegal gambling operations in Caraga region.

Chief Supt. Rolando B. Felix, Caraga police director said the recent seizures of two fruit game machines in Butuan City and Placer town, Surigao del Norte, and three video karera machines in Bayugan City and San Francisco town, Agusan del Sur would served as warning to all operators to stop their illegal gambling activities in the region.

“These illegal gambling machines are luring young bettors, not only the out-of-school youths but also students who cut classes and waste their money on it,” Felix said.

Earlier, President Duterte issued Executive Order No. 13 directing law enforcement agencies to step up the fight against illegal gambling.

In line with the war on gambing, Felix said he has ordered all police stations and operating units to intensify “without let up” their anti-illegal gambling operations in their respective areas of responsibility (AORs).
