Butuan’s most wanted person was arrested Saturday following a joint police operation in Lapu-Lapu City.

Butuan City police chief Col. Canilo Fuentes identified the arrested suspect as Adonis Franco,60, who has standing warrants of arrest from different courts for illegal drug trade charges, illegal possession of firearms and for election gun ban violations.

A joint team composed of members of the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) of the Butuan City police and Lapu-Lapu City Police Office served the arrest warrants on Franco in his rented house in Barangay Babag at 2:45 p.m on Saturday (Jan. 25).

Franco had been in hiding for five years in Lapu-Lapu. He has been tagged the most wanted man in Butuan, Fuentes said.

“He was arrested in the wake of our aggressive simultaneous anti-criminality operations that include Manhunt Charlie or operations against wanted persons,” Fuentes said.

The suspect was detained in Lapu-Lapu police jail and is set to be turned over to the court and eventually for commitment to the Butuan City Jail. CLC
