Butuan peddler arrested for selling ‘shabu’ in front of police station

Authorities arrested a suspected drug peddler early Thursday in a buy-bust operation in front of the headquarters of the Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) and seized from him P17,700 worth of illegal drugs.

Emmanuel Escalante, 22, also known as “ManMan” was caught red-handed while selling suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) to an undercover agent posing as a buyer around 1:30 a.m. in front of BCPO at Guingona Park in Barangay Urduja, Capt. Emerson Alipit, Butuan police spokesperson, said.

The suspect yielded three sachets of suspected shabu weighing 1.5 grams worth P17,700 in the street market.

Escalante was identified as one of the remaining “street-level” illegal drug pushers operating in the city.

Cases for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect. By CLC
