Starting middle of April, outdoor yoga sessions will be held at Zoila’s Farm and Garden Terraces in Barangay Taligaman national highway by Butuan City’s pioneer yoga advocate and writer-artist Ramon Jorge Sarabosing. Sessions are conducted at the farm’s garden terraces on a hill surrounded by coconut trees at 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
The yoga is incorporated with Body Wind Exploration (BWE) and walking meditation. BWE is a fitness exercise based and inspired in Tai chi created by Sarabosing himself. The artist and yoga instructor studied in Bali, Indonesia and taught in Davao City, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu City, England and Australia the past years.
Zoila’s Farm has for some time also hosted poetry-reading sessions, art workshops and interactions and small group academic gatherings and study.
Interested parties may contact the instructor-artist host in his Facebook page if they wish to join the weekend fitness event. They are also advised to bring a yoga mat or even the native “banig” mat. Sessions which are limited to 8 participants are on “pass the hat” basis.
