The number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Butuan City has inched towards the 1,000-mark, the city government said on Monday.
According to a Butuan City government report, eight new cases were reported on Sunday (Oct.11) which brought the city’s COVID-19 tally to 996. Of this number, 73 percent are due to local virus transmission.
The city has 310 active COVID-19 cases to date.
Meanwhile, the COVID-19 death toll in Butuan is now at 41, with one new death being recorded.
According to the Butuan City Public Information Office, Barangay Libertad continues to have the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 126, followed by barangays Villa Kananga at 103, and Ambago with 67 cases. CLC
