Christopher Lawrence “Kuya Bong” Go on Monday encouraged local chief executives of Luzon to continue to support President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s development agenda, which has resulted in the many positive changes that have been happening since Duterte assumed office.
“Let us all support one another and work together. The Filipino people need strong and compassionate leaders who will give them the service and opportunities that they deserve,” Kuya Bong Go said in his speech mduring the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP)’s Luzon Island Cluster Conference in Davao City.
LMP is an association composed of the mayors of 1,489 municipalities nationwide, as created by the virtue of Republic Act 7160, otherwise known as Local Government Code of 1991.
“Ramdam ko ang pagnanais ninyong patuloy na makapaglingkod sa bayan dahil ito rin ang nais kong gawin,” Go said.
He added, that if he were to be elected as Senator, he will work hard to push for the legislative agenda of President Duterte.
Go said he will strongly advocate for the improvement of the country’s medical services by putting up more Malasakit Centers all over the Philippines.
The Centers serve as one-stop shops, with offices and desks of all the relevant government agencies under one roof. The goal is to hasten the delivery of medical services to indigent patients and provide convenient access to free medicines. A fast lane prioritizing senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) is also available in every center.
Aside from prioritizing health services, Kuya Bong plans to also push for measures to fight illegal drugs, criminality, and corruption, improve access to free education, increase salaries of teachers and nurses, establish more Youth Development Centers, and review the Juvenile Justice Law, among others.
