Despite the strict enforcement of the enhanced community quarantine in Butuan City, an alleged drug peddler was caught selling suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) in a drug sting on Monday afternoon in Barangay Holy Redeemer.

Col. Canilo Fuentes, Butuan police chief, said in a report that agents of the local drug enforcement unit arrested Camilo Talledo Jr., 39, and considered by police as a “newly identified drug personality” in the locality.

Recovered from Talledo was one small sachet containing suspected shabu worth P5,900 in the streets and P1,000 cash used as marked money for the operation.

“Now that we are implementing an Enhanced Community Quarantine, we are not stopping with the rest of our usual police operations, most especially in our fight against criminality,” Fuentes said.

A case for violation of Section 5, Article II of  RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect. CLC
