Agusan Norte deserves Corvera and not ‘amateur’ Juan Miguel, says Gov. Angel

Gov. Angel:  We need somebody like Dale Corvera to succeed me. He shares the dreams and aspirations of all for a better Agusan del Norte.

Just like any countryside province, much still needs to be done in Agusan del Norte in terms of social, economic, educational, agricultural, peace and order, and human resource development. For a province whose main source of income is the internal revenue allotment, among others, it takes a qualified and experienced leader to lead the way. With so much institutional problems and developmental challenges confronting the province, Agusanons cannot afford to hand the reigns of government to neophytes.

This has always been the substance of outgoing Agusan del Norte Gov. Angel Amante’s campaign in her province-wide political sorties.

“The province needs a governor who will work immediately after taking office, and not a governor who will still go through an on-the-job training due to lack of experience and passion for the job,” the congressional candidate said.

“We need somebody like Dale Corvera  who is hard working, highly-experienced and  full of passion to succeed me. He shares the dreams and aspirations of all for a better Agusan,” Gov. Angel added.

Dale Corvera is up against a new-comer Juan Miguel Amante. Born and raised in Manila, he is the son of Rep. Erlpe John Amante’s another woman. He was allegedly forced by Erlpe John to run for governor.

“Gipugos lang na siya ug parehistro sa Cabadbaran ug gipadagan sa akong igsoon kay wala na siya’y lain makuha nga modagan pagka-gobernador bisan kahibalo siya nga wala’y experience iyang anak bisan purok president na man lang. Ang iya lang koneksiyon sa Agusan ang iyang pagka-anak sa akong igsoon,” Angel Amante revealed.

“Because Juan Miguel is raised in Manila, he is not actually familiar with the situation in Agusan and the needs of our people. Dili gani ni kahibalo mo-bisaya,” Angel Amante said.

“They keep on comparing me and Juan Miguel because I also ran as governor at a young age, but our situation is different. I might be young when I ran and won as governor but at an early age I was already trained by my parents. I was already active in leadership and community works at that time,” she added.

Gov. Angel has repeatedly shot down claims that she is endorsing Juan Miguel as her successor, saying these are just pure propaganda peddled by the camp of Rep. Erlpe John to sow confusion among Agusanons.

Recently, Angel Amante and Dale Corvera were both endorsed by President Duterte as his congressional and gubernatorial candidates respectively in the province of Agusan del Norte under the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).
