At least 595 policemen regionwide were promoted in ceremonies held in the Caraga Police Regional Office headquarters in Camp Rafael Rodriguez on Monday.
Caraga police director Brigadier General Joselito Esquivel Jr. said 21 commissioned officers and 574 non-commissioned officers got higher ranks.
The promotions came amid an intensified campaign by the Philippine National Police to weed out rogue personnel.
During promotion rites, Esquivel urged the newly promoted law enforcers to stay committed to their duty as policemen.
“Our promotion comes from God and we are answerable to Him for the services we give to the public. I am looking forward also that you will become good role models of competence, discipline, excellence and professionalism in the police force,” Esquivel said.
He said the promotions were handed out based on merit and “to give recognition to PNP personnel and uplift their morale.” By CLC
