Three persons were killed as a passenger bus squashed a tricycle in Surigao City on Sunday night.
The accident took place at about 6:35 p.m in Barangay Quezon, about 10 kilometers from the city proper of Surigao, said Supt Diomedes Cuadra, Surigao police chief.
Cuadra said the collision happened after a tricycle, driven by Arthur Manlimos, which came from Barangay Sison and was bound for the city proper, overtook a car and rammed head on with an incoming bus, a Philtranco Line driven by Alfonso Ledesma, and was bound for Butuan from the Visayas.
The impact was so intense that Manlimos and passengers Celeste Señahan and Gary Aguila all died on the spot from severe body injuries.
The passengers of Philtranco were unhurt, police said. By CLC
