2 more drug pushing suspects arrested in Butuan

Anti-illegal drugs operatives in Butuan City arrested two more suspected drug pushers as they continue to crack down on the illegal drugs trade.

The latest to be arrested were Haries Griar,31, and Loriejoy Deguinio, 28, who fell into the hands of the law during a sting operation around 2:30 p.m. Friday in Barangay Maon, Colonel Canilo Fuentes, Butuan police chief, said in a report.

He said two large sachets of suspected shabu worth P590,000 and the marked money used in the buy-bust operation by operatives from local police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) were recovered from the suspects.

The suspects, both newly identified drug personalities are facing charges for violation of Section 5 and 12, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Fuentes said earlier on Thursday, operatives also arrested suspects Methergen Caballero, 31, and his alleged cohort Alvin Fatallo, 38, during an operation in the same village.

Seized from them were plastic sachets of shabu weighing 25 grams worth P295,000 in the street market.

The two were included in the priority target list or regional recalibrated top 10 illegal drug personalities.

“Despite the pandemic scare, we are not resting on our crackdown against the proliferation of illegal drugs,” Fuentes said. CLC
