Two people were killed and one was injured in separate shooting incidents in the towns of Buenavista and Carmen in Agusan del Norte province yesterday (Wednesday), police said Thursday.
Police Lt. Col. Christian Rafols II, spokesperson of the Caraga regional police spokesperson, identified the fatalities as Jason Bantugan, 25; and Jerry Galolo, 32; while the wounded victim was identified as Rotchil Dingal, 31.
Initial information gathered by police said Bantugan, was riding a motorcycle when he was attacked by four armed suspects aboard two motorcycles in Barangay 3 in Buenavista town at 12:25 p.m.
Bantugan, a resident of Barangay Upper Olave, succumbed to his injuries while being treated in the hospital.
Galolo, on the other hand, was aboard a motorcycle driven by Dingal when waylaid by still unidentified gunmen aboard another motorcycle in Barangay Rojales, Carmen at past 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The gunmen immediately escaped after the attack.
Galolo died on the spot from gunshot wounds in different parts of his body while Dingal suffered gunshot wounds in the back from a caliber .45 pistol.
Police are probing on possible motives of the attacks. By CLC
