10 riding-in-tandem suspects arrested in first 6 months of 2017- PNP-Caraga

Police authorities in the Caraga Region had arrested 10 riding-in-tandem suspects violating various criminal offenses during the first six months of the year alone.

Caraga police director Chief Supt. Rolando Felix attributed the arrests to its intensified campaign against criminality and police crackdown on criminal gangs across the region.

“With the cooperation of the community, Caraga police successfully arrested 10 criminals on motorcycle and recovered 75 loose firearms from different anti criminality operations during the first six months of this year ,” Felix said.
Felix vowed criminal suspects currently on the loose have only few time remaining before they will be reach and caught by long arms of the law.

Based on reports , the Tagcatong Patrol Base located along the National Highway of District Maligaya, Barangay Tagcatong, Carmen, Agusan del Norte by which an immediate checkpoint was set up against three motorcycle-riding suspects of phone snatching that transpired in Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental sometime on January 4, 2017 were arrested at the checkpoint.

Carmen police claimed suspects Rammel Jhon Musico (driver), 20, Ramil Nuñes, 21, and Raymond Gumo, 23, attempted to hurdle Tagcatong checkpoint and tried to attack the police authorities but were pacified later on.

Seized from the suspects were an improvised shotgun with two live ammunition, five assorted mobile phones believed to be stolen, a bladed weapon and a black Skygo motorcycle without plate number.

In Barangay La Purisima, Cagwait, Surigao del Sur checkpoint shooting incident suspects Rody Malooy, 37, and Roland Intas, 25, were arrested last March 23, 2017 evening.

Police reports from Surigao del Sur claimed the two riding in tandem suspects shot victims Dominico Dublas and his wife, Marites Dublas in Barangay La Purisima.

Wife Marites was able to seek help from nearby residents after fleeing from further attacks while his husband died after being shot several times.

Confiscated from the suspects were a Caliber .45 pistol, a Colt Cal. 45, two magazines of Cal. 45 and five live ammunition of caliber .45.

Another arrest of one of the riding in tandem suspects transpired along the national highway of Purok 2, Barangay Sto. Niño, San Agustin, Surigao del Sur last April 10, 2017.

Arrested suspect was identified as Jessie Enriquez while his companion evaded arrest, police report claimed.

Enriquez was arrested following call from public about presence of two armed men wearing bonnet lurking in the area as if waiting for something.

Enriquez sustained gunshot wounds for exchanging fire with the operatives and was brought to the nearest hospital for medical treatment while a case for illegal possession of firearms is being filed against him after police operatives recovered a KG9 9mm with two magazines loaded with six ammunitions from his possession.

Operatives also confiscated his red Honda TMX motorcycle without plate number.

On the other hand, Caraga police scored on its campaign against loose firearm after Bislig City Police conducted a lightning checkpoint along the National Highway in Purok-5 John Bosco District, Barangay Mangagoy, Bislig City recently where suspects Manny Boy Aquilino, 24 (driver), and Algen Pislan, 32, were arrested carrying a Colt MK IV Caliber .45 pistol with a magazine loaded with four rounds of live ammunition and a black Baofeng handheld radio.
